Background Information on the Annual Security Report
The University Security Department produces an annual security and safety report in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act. The Clery Act requires higher education institutions to give timely warnings of crimes that represent a threat to the safety of students or employees, and to make public their campus security policies. It also requires that crime data are collected, reported, and disseminated to the campus community and are also submitted to the U.S. Department of Education. The act is inteded to provide students and their families, as high education consumers, with accurate, complete, and timely information about safety on campus so that they can make informed decisions.
Each year, an email notification is made to all enrolled students, staff, and faculty that provides the web site to access this report. Copies of the report may also be obtained at the University Security Department, located at 2245 University Drive or by email at policeuniversitysecurity@boisestate.edu.
